The Indian stock market is expected to open flat today, with the Nifty trading marginally up near 26,510, indicating a flat open for the benchmark Nifty 50. Nifty Top Gainers
The Nifty top gainers included Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Nifty auto remained the top sectoral gainer, of which top gainers included M&M and Exide industries. While all sectoral indices ended on a mixed note, the Indian rupee weakened 16 paise to 89.47 against the US Dollar at close.
US Market Update
US stocks climbed in a quiet, holiday-shortened session after a technical outage at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange briefly disrupted premarket trading. Treasury yields inched higher as bonds slipped. The S&P 500 added 0.5%, pulling back within reach of its record peak, though activity was light — trading volumes were more than 25% below the 30-day average as markets shut at 1 p.m.

Silver Prices Surge
Silver extended its surge to a fresh record, building on nearly 6% gains from the previous session, when a trading outage intensified concerns over tight supply and strengthened expectations of a US rate cut. The metal rose as much as 1.4% to $57.29.

Indian Parliament’s winter session begins and is scheduled to run until Dec. 19. India will release November manufacturing PMI; the government will release industrial production data for Oct. Automobile companies will release November sales data.
