Money blog: €20 charge for Britons travelling to EU from next year – what you need to know

The cost of completing some popular home renovations appears to be falling.
The Checkatrade Home Improvement Index shows prices for bathroom fittings have dropped significantly – down in consecutive quarters to £5,525, compared with £6,062 in the final quarter of 2024.
The average kitchen fitting job is now £6,803, down from £7,337 at the end of last year.
Typical bedroom fitting costs fell to £3,631 from £4,016.
Average prices for painting and decorating, window and door fitting and plastering have also fallen during this year, the analysis indicates.
